Maya L. F.
Maya received a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from San Francisco State University in 2000. Maya moved to San Diego in 2005 and worked as a scientific recruiter for four years. Having a deep passion for science, human biology, and clinical research, Maya continued her education at University of California, San Diego Extension and obtained certificates in both in Regulatory Affairs Essentials and Clinical Trials Design and Management in 2008. In 2009, Maya joined Dr. Scott Leary as his clinical research coordinator and over the years expanded her role and became his Director of Business Development and Office Manager. For the past 12 years, Maya has supported Dr. Leary in his vision to build a patient centered practice that continues to be innovative and cutting edge while providing the best possible neurosurgical care. Maya maintains memberships with the Association of Clinical Research Professionals and the San Diego Chapter of Women of Bioscience.
During her free time, Maya enjoys traveling with her husband and playing with her four-legged babies.
Edith S.
Edith received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California, San Diego in 1996. From 1997 to 2002, she worked as a Program Manager at Qualcomm, during which time she also obtained a Certificate in Project Management from the University of San Diego. Edith took some time off to start her family and remained active in her volunteer efforts for Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary, where she co-chaired 9 large fundraising events and served on the Board of Directors for 5 years. During her time at Rady Children’s, Edith became passionate about healthcare and neurosurgery in particular when her daughter became a neurosurgical patient at Radys. Edith became Senta Neurosurgery’s Operations Manager supporting Dr. Scott Leary’s practice in 2019. Given her personal experiences, Edith knows that getting a referral to neurosurgery is a stressful, life altering event, so she truly appreciates being part of the patient care process for Dr. Leary’s patients.
When not at work, Edith enjoys spending time with her friends and family, traveling, cooking, and entertaining.
Alisa P.
Alisa graduated from Comprehensive Training Systems Medical Assistant Program in June of 2000. Upon graduating as a certified Medical Assistant, Alisa took a position in La Jolla working in cardiology at San Diego Cardiovascular Associates and worked there until 2018. In 2019, Alisa joined Dr. Leary’s practice as his Medical Assistant. Alisa seats patients, assists providers with all aspects of patient care including procedures, and also completes patient fittings for medical braces. Alisa enjoys getting to know Dr. Leary’s patients and, with over 20 years of healthcare experience, she provides comprehensive and compassionate care.
During her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, beach days, hiking, and eating yummy food.
Stefani C.
Stefani graduated from United Education Institute in 2011 with a certificate in Medical Assisting. Prior to joining Dr. Leary’s team, Stefani worked as a Medical Assistant in Pain Management. In 2019, Stefani started working with Dr. Leary as both his Referral Coordinator and Medical Assistant. In her role as Referral Coordinator, Stefani works with each patient to assist them in coordinating their referrals for additional testing, imaging, physical therapy, and to other physicians. Stefani also seats patients, assists providers with all aspects of patient care, and also completes patient fittings for medical braces.
Stefani has recently stepped into the role of Surgery Scheduler. When surgery is required, Stefani coordinates surgical procedures with hospitals and surgery centers, schedules and obtains pre-operative testing, communicates surgery orders, and collects all of the necessary documentation for surgeries. Stefani guides our patients through the entire surgery process so that they can focus on recovery. Being a part of the healing process is especially gratifying for Stefani. She loves to witness a patient’s return to pain-free living after receiving care from Dr. Leary.
When not working, Stefani enjoys time with family, going to the beach, and watching movies.
Andrea S.
Andrea is new to our team. Prior to joining Dr. Leary’s practice, Andrea worked as Receptionist/Administrative Assistant for a law firm for 21 years and is excited to get in to the healthcare field. As the Patient Services Representative, Andrea is managing front desk operations and checking patients in for their appointments. Andrea also schedules all new patients and is the medical records coordinator. Andrea approaches our patients with empathy and compassion and ensures a positive patient experience.
When not working, Andrea enjoys traveling, watching football, spending time with family, and going to her son’s AAU games.
Raymond T.
Raymond graduated at the top of his class in May 2020 from Modern Technology in Fountain Valley, CA. A few months later he took the state exam and became a certified Xray Tech. Raymond is a former certified personal trainer and functional movement specialist with over 10 years of experience. He decided to switch fields and apply his skillset to radiology and continue his passion towards helping people become healthier and stronger. Raymond has worked (and continues to work per diem) in several fast-paced urgent care centers in Oceanside, Carmel Valley, and Scripps Ranch. He also worked with our associate Murphy Sports Medicine in La Jolla which eventually led to Raymond joining Dr. Scott Leary as his Xray Tech. He is responsible with radiologic imaging for consultations, pre and post operative procedures, and follow up appointments. Raymond continues to support Dr. Leary’s vison for his neurosurgical practice by providing his patients with the utmost respect and professional care.
Outside the office, Raymond enjoys hanging out with family and friends, everything outdoors, DIY projects, and Levain chocolate chip cookies.
Tracy S.
Tracy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from University of California, Irvine in 2005. While attending Physician Assistant school, Tracy completed clinical rotations in Family Medicine, Sports Medicine, and Orthopedic Emergency and Trauma Medicine prior to receiving her Master of Physician Assistant Practice degree from the University of Southern California in 2010. Pursuing her interests in Orthopedic surgery, Tracy began working for Dr. Leary in the Division of Neurological and Spine Surgery at Senta Clinic in 2010. Tracy worked for Dr. Leary for 10 years at which point she transitioned to Girard Orthopedic Medical Group. In 2023, Tracy rejoined Dr. Leary’s team where she is an integral part of Dr. Leary’s healthcare team and is deeply committed to providing exceptional care to their patients. Tracy is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the California Academy of Physician Assistants (CAPA). She is a California girl, born and raised in San Diego; a mom of three, and when not at work enjoys spending time with family, entertaining friends, eating, and working out.
